any help would be appreciated
Peter here, just got the latest issue of Radio Controled Car Racer. I was quite interested in the review of the new Xray T3 12. I noticed that one of the main differencs between the T3 11 and the T3 12 was the rear geared differential on the T3 12 as to the T3 11's ball differential. Why would Xray have fitted a geared diff to the new car and what advantages would this give to the performance of the car. (P.S someone please respond)

Any issues, let me know.
Sorry for the late notice, but since they are making the effort to come, we thought this was best.

Hi Everyone,

To make things a bit slicker on Sunday, I've put down some information regarding the Endurance race below.

•We should get access to the hall between 09:30 and 09:45 (We have the hall booked 10:00 to 15:00).
•The race will start at 10:30
•There will be a quick drivers briefing before the race (mostly the content of this email)
•Each team has been allocated 2 transponders, a primary and a back up. There are also 2 "Entries" on the computer for each team, so it will count your laps with either transponder. I have tested out the transponders and cycled them 8 times so far. The batteries in the transponders you have been assigned as your primary last over 12 hours, so there should be no issues (Hopefully!!). I will test them with the timing gear on Saturday at the track setup.
•We are setting up the track on Saturday, 16:00-17:00. I will be there from 15:45. Anyone who can help, it will be much appreciated.
•There is another function on in the other hall on Saturday which will be using some of the tables, so we may have to set up a few of the tables on the Sunday. Please remember to bring a towel/cover for the tables. Each team will be assigned a pit area on the Saturday, look for the signs on the wall. An extension lead is recommended.
•All lipos must be charged in a proper lipo sack designed for this purpose. This is a BRCA requirement anyway, no exceptions.
•We will do a draw on Sunday, this is for each team's marshall position, rostrum position and race start slot.
•The race will start like a normal qualifying round. There are 6 teams, so whoever starts the race for your team will go when their number is called (as picked from the draw).
•There must be a marshall on post at all times. this can be a nominated marshall provided they are a BRCA member. Failure to marshall will result in a penalty. Each car should be treated equally, so no ignoring an opposing team's car or anything stupid like that. Marshalls should be "swapped" at the marshall position and not halfway round the hall.
•There will be a pitlane for changing over cars, transponders cannot be swapped anywhere else but in the pitlane area. When driving through the pitlane, keep the speed down. If you enter the pitlane by accident, keep the speed down, drive through and rejoin.
•There will be someone on race control most of the time throughout the race, who will be checking to ensure all cars are counting. The computer also "beeps" when a car crosses the line, so keep a listen out to ensure your teams car is counting.
•Last one- the track has been designed to be reasonably open, if a faster car comes up behind you, its in both your interests to let that car past, likewise if you are one of the quicker cars, be patient. There is a mixture of abilities and no one wants it to turn into a destruction derby. Remember its an endurance race, so loosing 1 second here or there on track is nothing compared to 1 minute or so if you break your car, have to get it recovered, a team mate has to get ready etc.

I think I have covered everything but if there are any questions, let me know. Feel free to pass this on to your teams, if I haven't included them on the email (I don't have everyones email address

Looking at the teams and entries I have received, it looks like it will be a pretty close race, every team has a mixture of experienced and newcomers and I would say its pretty difficult to predict. Hopefully it will be a good event.

See you Sunday,

How about GRCC holding a round? The last meeting in Ayr had over 50 cars and was great fun. I think it would be a great to see a club in the North East support the grass roots of our sport and hold a round in the new year some time

If you are looking to start touring car racing, the Stonehaven club have created a class for 2012 ideal for newcomers, known as the SPEC Class.

Details available at the link below, including links and details on where to buy a kit with everything needed to start racing in 1 box...

http://www.sdrcc.co.uk/pits/racing%20cla...c%20class/

The car in the kit will be ideal to race at GRCC also, the only thing which will need changing will be the gear ratio. I can advise if needs be.
