AGM Topics (23rd August)
Date: 23rd August
Venue: Codify, 6 Queens Terrace, Aberdeen AB10 1XL (Free parking out the front) Time: 11am Club members please remember this is your club, so have you say at the AGM. Anything you want to suggest or bring forward at the AGM then please post it so we can put it on the agenda. Club Positions Chairman Secretary Treasurer Race Director PR Officer Race Format Stick with current format? 4 rounds of FTQ, 3minute races (on the condition of no. of competitors) 1 round of finals Extra point for FTQ Championship Junior champ [F1] Age limit as per BRCA rules Senior champ [F2] Track Markers There has been some discussion over the season on what we use as track markers. Phil has designed an alternative (http://www.grampianrcc.co.uk/forum/showt...hp?tid=26) to the sand filled hoses using square plastic guttering and velcro. I propose that we discuss it at the AGM and see what the feeling of the club members are. Team Endurance Race Do we want to run it again? Max of 8 teams 4 hour race Earlier and better publicity of the event, last time round all the entries came in the last few days leading up to it!! Club open day This is something I think we really need to do. Not long after I joined this club back in 2003, there was too many people. You had to pre-register the week before (I think the max was 50 people). Whilst the numbers aren't bad, averaging probably 23-27 racers per meeting there must be lots of equipment in Inverurie sitting gathering dust!! My suggestion is the first date we are allocated, we make it a open day. If we can get a few cars to give shots of with standard 540 motors and do demonstration races to try encourage others to take it up. I can get flyers and posters printed at my work to publicize the event. Tech help/day? Something I've noticed over the years I've been doing this that there are a lot of people who get fed up of the sport because they can't get their car running right. Maybe poor setup, wrong gearing or just some maintenance advice needed. I'm suggesting that maybe over the course of a season we could have one or two tech days where drivers who are running at the sharp end can give help and advice to others? I know myself that during a race meeting it is often hard to find the time to help out. Feel free to make any comments/suggestions or post your own ideas!! One last thing, as some know I've been debating the idea of renting a flat in town with a few mates. I'm not a certain, as for them they need to find somewhere to stay but we have a viewing this week! So at this moment in time I'm unsure of whether or not I'll stand for chairman again as I feel it would be unfair on the club if finances meant I wasn't coming to the races. I'm hoping this wont be the case and that I can afford to run my big car to get me to the races!! |

RE: AGM Topics (23rd August)
As Keiran has said AGM is on 23rd August. I will email members this weekend as I know not everyone is on this forum regularly.
Points to remember: 1. I will NOT be running for secretary again. Without a secreatary the club cannot race. Please let me know if you are interested in joining the committee. 2. Please email me with any proposals See you there, Jason |
