Help needed for IC race
Agggghhh

I need a pitman for the IC race can anyone help? Dan was going to be on the winning team with me but he has wimped out.

Racing is saturday and sunday 3rd and 4th April

Basically the cars need refueling throughout the race... plus it needs starting and putting on the track...

Any help appreciated otherwise I will have to fuel up and then dro pout half way through each race when I run out of fuel!

No blame needed, I think spending time with your girls is a much better prospect than spending time with me!

I would do this in a heartbeat... love ic, raced 1/8 ic for centuries, helped build the stony track and was pit man for Ian Cowieson (and others) at stony and up and down the country for years.. but i'll be at my caravan opening it up for the 2010 season... also missing another meeting at Inverurie....Sad

RE: Help needed for IC race
Sorry loon, but me and my extensive wealth of IC racing knowledgeWink will be down at the Indoor GP in Dunfermline, otherwise I would have been quite happy to be involved.

Best of luck though.

PS. Are you the only entry from up here?

RE: Help needed for IC race
Wuzie,

IC is easy (well it is at the level I am working at!) Basically the car gets fired up and does a warm up few laps then after about 5 mins it needs refueling, i pull into the pits, you fill her up and I go off again to win the race. Never done this either so its a learning thing! But I plan to do a fair bit of watching as the other classes are silly quick!

I will supply burgers and booze if you are my pit man (I am going to camp down there and get leathered all weekend!) Tent has 2 sections so feel free to join in!

PM replied to as well fella.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt it 5min heats? so only in the finals do you need to refuel during the race...
Ive never been involved in 1/10ic so that could be wrong.
Get a stop watch and a whistle... you'll need to time your driver so you know when to call him in for fuel, and the whistle attracts his attention when the time comes. Get very familiar with the car and its workings, the ability to stop the car in your pit box with your foot, pick up the car and open the spring loaded lid of the fuel tank with one hand and fill the tank with the bottle or gun using the other are skills well worth learning.
