Hi guys... lovin the new venue, nice to see some of you today, likin the idea of the silver can/mardave thing... and I think I know someone who has one lying in their garage gathering dust... hmmm

So whats other peoples thoughts on new home and mardave class?

Graeme
Agree.... great venue. Thanks to the committee for arranging everything.
I loved the Silver Can class.Big Grin It allowed me race my 20 year old TRC Pro-10 again, with a motor that cost £6.50 and still put in decent laps that would have put me in the 'A' of the Touring Cars. Cant wait for the first round proper.

As for the venue, I think it worked out fine and dandy. Obviously today was all about fact finding in terms of setting up time and also time to take everything down again. Not to mention how we pack it all away in the storage area. But it all went without a hitch.

I think a mention must also go to Edward Scissorhands who took time out from trimming someones hedge to run the meeting.Tongue
i thought the new home was better than inverurie. and the silver can class was brillant. how much slower was a mardave compared to the touring cars
I think Marc was saying there were three touring cars that were faster than his mardave after the first round of heats.

I really enjoyed it, will rebuild the old scythe properly now to run the silver can motor in rather than the mini. Still need a lot of setup time with the brushless setup as the motor was getting really hot - even after I turned things right down - gearing to try next!

Great venue, really seemed like a much improved atmosphere than inverurie.

Very much looking forward to the next race!

Good to hear some positive comments guys!

A lot of the thanks has to go to Keiran, who gave up a fair amount of time to sort out the move. Also a massive thanks to the guys who moved the carpet and markers.

As Chris has said, yesterday was the first time we had setup that carpet and track. Keiran, Stephen Burnett and myself did most of the box section for the Union Sq GP, and it must have taken about 4 hours to build that track, so I didn't think we did too badly! Once we get used to it, I think we can get the carpet laid and track built in less than 45 mins.

We will see how we are for time at the next meeting in our normal 4 hour slot, but it might be an idea to have an extra 30 mins all the time, to save the rushing about. If the hall is available, and we are getting the numbers, then i don't see why we can't.
