Just wanted to say that I am really looking forward to this years indoor racing.

I have not managed to make many races outdoors this summer due to work, weekends away for weddings etc etc but hopefully the winter will be more relaxed allowing me to attend more races!

Depending on the classes approved at the AGM, I hope to race the 13.5 brushless class and the silver can motor class.

For the open class I have a tamyia M05 which had a little outing at Stonehaven earlier in the year. It is standard apart from a fast gear set but I may change this back to the standard gearing depending on temperatures in the motor and speed controller. I am fortunate that I have a little money stashed away for this class so if someone wants to commit to an F1 car, I will be up for that in this class.

For the touring car class, I have got a TOPS ARP which is designed for asphalt but it should be ok for me on carpet. I have only ever seen Niels K run one at the MuchMore GP a few years ago. it is basically a hopped up Scythe with some designs similar to the Photon so its not the latest chassis. I built it for Mark VDV who came over from Oman to do one of the MuchMore series races (at Carlisle) so it has done a few laps but is still in 300 times better condition than my Scythe which is very worn now.

I think this year will be a really good year so come on, lets get some excitement going, what are you planning on running this winter? Will you be playing with silver can motors?
Yea can't wait, as much as I like racing outdoors the weather really hasn't been on our side this year!! Will be nice not having to worry about it raining Smile

I'll be running my faithful ol' TC5 with exotec lipo chassis and most likely 13.5 brushless.
If still here I'll be doing the silver can class (which will hopefully exist)!
Woop woop, after my last out door race at stonehaven last weekend (which was a great day by the way) I have got the TOPS ARP ready for the indoor season. I have a set of the MuchMore Rug Racer control tyres to use and oh my they feel sticky compared to the ones we have been using outdoors! Rear diff re-built with new plates and ceramic diff balls, ceramic thrust balls so now really smooth, car all cleaned and installed with a 13.5 turn motor.

The mini is ready, an M05 front wheel drive. Standard kit with a few mods: 3racing oil filled dampers and a fast gear set. Still using the standard Tamiya speedo and silver can motor. Also got a set of super sticky Solaris S spec rubber tyres.

As a little test, I have my original Scythe with a 10.5 and standard firmware speedo ready, this is set up the same as the ARP in terms of springs, damper oil etc etc but more worn, I plan to try a few heats with each to see what the difference is between the two speedo / motor combos.

Anyone else care to share what they are running in a little more detail.
I only have 2 cars remaining (Photon in bits and my 4wd buggy) although could run a Carisma from the Union Square GP!
Guys,

I am thinking of running a "silver can class" F1 car at this years indoor fun and frolics. (if the centre get their act together)

Are there any of the ones used at the USGP up for grabs to interested parties such as myself, with money going to the club etc.?

If we can get a few names together for this to make it worthwhile, I'll probably get rid of my TC.
Dasbo,

All the F1s from USGP went back to much more where I believe they are being used for other promos. I am using the mini in the silver can class, purely because I am not going to buy an F1 in case the class doesnt take off, if there are a few regular drivers then I will join you with the F1 scene and put the mini on the shelf.
I'm in the same boat Chris. What we need is a few names to commit to the idea and all take the plunge in buying a batch. I noticed that new 3racing F1's are selling at about 65 quid on Ebay and that includes a 540 "silver can" motor.

But I suppose I can always use my old TRC Pro-10, but it will be massive next to yours (ahem).
