Another old wifes tale Gareth which is not true and along the lines of the pro-stock class being changed that you voiced a few months back also.
If anyone has any questions regarding the BRCA please feel free to ask them directly or myself as the Scottish area rep

.

No problems Gareth, we just need to watch what rumours get around after all we want to encourage people into our sport not put them off suggesting equipment bought just last year will be banned. I for one would not be impressed if that happened.
George
Is it true that the BRCA have said we have to use square wheels made of rowntree's raspberry jelly for 2009 instead of the conventional round plastic type??
I really hope not as I think this may affect the handling of the car (just my thoughts), depending of course how long the jelly wheels are given to set in the fridge....but then it may improve the handling of Colin's car if he ever returns......

2 questions on the jelly
1 i have heard of some ppl saying lrp blue is the best additive to use?
2 what temp should i warm them to?

Gareth,
Very valid questions young man, which I will try to answer below:
1 "i have heard of some ppl saying lrp blue is the best additive to use?"
LRP blue additive will work ok with the jelly, it has been tried and tested by Marc Rheinard and Atsushi Hara although you may need to reinforce the hex part of the wheel - some racers have experienced the hex slipping at full throttle within the jelly mould.
2 what temp should i warm them to?
Never, I repeat NEVER use tyre warmers on jelly wheels, this will only end in disaster. This will cause a "Jelly ripple, sometimes called Jelly Tots" effect and you will spray jelly all over other racers cars and over the carpet - this looks good on the main straight but is a nightmare when passing the drivers stand, unless anyone is hungry.....they could then just open their mouths and get a lovely strawberry/raspberry/orangey treat whilst racing.
Any more questions welcome, but please keep them sensible.
