i want to get into racingside of things either for fun and to meet new poeple.

What would be best start off with Brushed or brushless.

Where can you also do off road and is there any where good in inverurie take buggys?
Hi,

If you're getting in it from the scratch I'd recommend brushless, the common misconception is that it is more expensive which is not true, especially with ready to run kits (RTR) coming out now with sport brushless systems installed, it will be a lot easier for you in the long run, a lot less maintenance and more consistent performance run after run.

Come along on Sunday and we can discuss in more detail as there are a lot of options out there dependant on what you want and what your budget is.

The Stonehaven club run an off road championship (1st round is March 7th) and I think there are 8 rounds but it could be 6 I can't remember.

I've spoken to the sports centre manager in the past about building an off road track in Inverurie at the Garioch centre but I wouldn't expect anything to happen with this, not quickly anyway.

We have tried to run some off road heats alongside touring cars and there was some good initial interest, not sure what everyone else thinks but as TC is getting more popular at GRCC I doubt there's much time to pursue this fully.

Stonehaven is your only bet locally for outdoor electric off road racing.

Here's a clip of a race there last year (I'm the buggy with the whiteish shell and rear yellow and front white wheels), made some silly errors but am happy with the car on the whole!:

What off road buggy i was looking at hpi vorza flux looks awesome for fun
i have E revo chassis i am building up
and i have hpi sprint 2

i got brushless 10t motor

just wondering on ESC to use
what type of buggy is that and what motor and esc do you run in it ?
There are a lot of buggys on the Market. My advice is buy something decent to start with. If you buy a ready to run plastic example and then 'hop it up' with alloy bits it will cost you more in the long run and the buggy will still not be as good as a racing model would have been.

Do you have a 10 turn brushed or a 10.5 turn brushless motor? There's a fair difference.

The 4WD buggy (in the video) is a Kyosho Lazer ZX5FS. It's a great buggy but there are plenty of others available. I usually run a losi or team wave 6.5 turn brushless motor and have put a losi xcelorin esc in it.

There are a lot of choices for brushless esc's ranging from approx £50 to £200

Dan
I think the HPI vorza flux is from the 1/8th brushless rallyX family.

We run 1/10th electric cars, to race 1/8th there's a track called central scotand off roaders (csor) you could go to down near Ayr I think it is.

Get yourself a 10th electric buggy and come racing!

Yes the HPI vorza flux is 1/8th looks awesome tho and fast and handling is good i been told i just want it for fun

But like get hold of 1/10 buggy to maybe race with what the racing spec rules for off road buggys

I have 10 brushless motor just need ESC

but having trouble with money at the moment so i need sell few things sort things out

Is it every sunday ? What type of bodyshell is needed

i rather come down once i got all bits to have a go
heres my car
[Image: rcshells_21.jpg]
but also got a ford mustand shell
I feel it would be a far better idea to come and see what others use and how it all works... no point in spending wodges of cash to find its all of little use...
I would suggest the best way to go is to buy good second hand gear rather than new entry level stuff, there are several club members who will gladly guide and help you get on the right path to racing...

The thread you started indicates that you would like to get into racing, so why would you buy a car that is not supported up here when money is tight... buy something you can race... you know you want to, and you'll never regret it.

G...
What time is it on sunday and is it every sunday
No its 7th March...

And works out about every two weeks use the calander from the home page... Calander
who do you talk to when you get there sorry ask silly question
but i just wondering asnever been to one before
Talk to anyone walking around I guess Smile... I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction, that's what I'm gonna do.

I might be racing for the first time this year, maybe not on the 7th but probably at some point...gotta get my buggy dirty sometime, of course I'll come last but it's taking part that counts right... Smile
