Hi chaps,

I'm looking forward to round 3 of the indoor season on Sunday but I have a query with regards to BRCA membership cards.

I have been on their website to see if I can join ASAP but the link has been removed and replaced with the message "2009 Memberships forms will be available for download shortly after the AGM in November".

Does this mean that I will not be able to race again after my third meeting on Sunday, as it might take some time to get my 2009 membership processed? Or will completing my membership to GRCC allow me to race, as I will be giving Jason my membership form and payment on sunday as discussed last time?

Cheers,

Dasbo
This is something I had thought about as I was posting the article. I'll talk to Jason about it and see what we come up with as there will be a few others affected by this.
Hi all,

I have just received the membership forms from the BRCA. I will bring them with me tommorow. I will also bring club membership forms.

If you want to join the BRCA through GRCC then you will need to send the completed forms along with payment to me by Dec 10. Any forms received after that will be returned and you will have to join the BRCA yourself. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!

For 2009 if you do not have your BRCA card you will not be allowed to race. Again, THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!

Regards,
Jason
GRCC Secretary

PS hope that's clear
FYI

BRCA membership runs from the 1 st of Jan each year however you can join 2 months early as a new member thus getting 14 months for the price of 12. So the first date you can be a member would be the 1st of November. The problem I see with GRCC is that you start racing in Sepetember and have 4 race meetings before this date so a new comer wanting to race these 4 meeting would have to join the BRCA twise or risk having no insurance (you can only race 3 times as a guest with insurance before you must join).

Something you may wish to think about next year when you organise you're calander.

Yes we realise that but due to the nature of our season running over the two years it's hard to avoid. We aim to start our season when Stonehaven finishes and finish when it starts up again.

There has only been a small minority affected, maybe 3 or so. It's not ideal but I can't see any other way of doing it, this season we only have 12 rounds and to a lot of our members that's the only racing they will do the whole year so dropping rounds to fall into the BRCA bracket isn't a solution.
