Next Meeting: Club Round 9 in in 12 days (21-02-2010)
Ever wanted to be a touring car driver but could never afford it?
Well now you can! Just on a smaller scale, 1/10th to be exact. Don't be fooled by their small size and the fact they are powered by electric motors. These little cars are more than capable of reaching speeds of up-to 40mph. Our race meetings are held at Inverurie in the Sports Centre.News
After todays events I'd like to remind everyone that if you don't produce a BRCA membership card when asked you will not get to race. I don't require to see the card every meeting but I will ask for it if I don't have the number recorded on the computer as that means I've not seen it during the season.
Also I've been in touch with Jacquie the BRCA membership secretary to confirm the 3 races rule and it is as follows:
They are not eligible to race under the 3 meeting rule. Despite the fact that neither have been members for two years, the rule relates to completely new members - not renewing members, irrespective of the time their membership has lapsed.
BRCA membership gives you third party cover if you hurt someone, hence why no BRCA no racing.
I've posted a quick race report and results for the endurance race (link). Hope everyone enjoyed themselves and thanks to the Shetland + Dundee lot for making the trip to race with us. Hope to see you lot back next year for another exciting race

Next club round is 7th Feb at usual time of 1pm.
On the ball this time, results and championship positions are up-to date. Was good to see so many people at this round, with 33 people racing in total.
Endurance race this Sunday, if your still looking for a team feel free to use the forum to find one or email me and I'll try sort something out. Please let me know earlier, rather than later as its an organizational nightmare!!
If anyone isn't racing but fancies helping out it would be very much appreciated, just drop me a line if you can. Anyone fancy commentating?

Happy new year all!
Just a reminder that the endurance race is fast approaching, please get those entries in ASAP, it makes my life a lot easier!! Sorting xtals is a complete nightmare. Looks like we have 4 teams so far leaving 4 spaces available.
Please contact/email others and let them know about this event. I've had a few clubs in the past say they would love to attend but don't get the info early enough. I'll be sending an email out to the contacts I have but have always struggled to find others. If your struggling to get a team, then use the forum to find others.
A note to all club members! The year is up, and so is your BRCA membership. If you haven't renewed it with the club then please download this form http://brca.org/BRCA/join/2010%20Full%20member%20form.doc and send it away ASAP.
NO BRCA CARD NO RACING!! This is a must I'm afraid without BRCA membership you are not insured and as such if anything happens on the track we the committee members are the first ones in line for any legal action. You will have to show me your BRCA card the next time you race this year, if you have any problems then contact me and I'll try help you. For as little as £15 it gives your third party cover if you cause injury to someone else, and as far as I'm aware covers you in school playgrounds etc.
I've posted the results from round 5, unfortunately don't have the championship positions on my pen drive so will have to wait till I get back home.
Right folks, I've now talked to the manager of the sports centre and found another booking which wont be going ahead! He is now going to look into it as it appears whoever handled the booking has just clicked ignore on there software program when its told them there has been a clash. As a result it looks like we will now have 2x free meetings after the disruption at the last one.
We then went through all the meetings to double check and found that we are booked in for the 3rd January, but the sports centre isn't even open!!
As a result I've proposed we hold 2 more rounds in April (4th, 18th) to make up for the shortfall in rounds. Please let me know if you object to this ASAP otherwise I will go ahead and book the slots.
Racing is off this sunday, hall has some how been double booked. Please advise others.
I'll be in touch with sports centre manager on monday.
Results for round 4 are now up and championship positions updated. Racing this Sunday at 1pm, as usual aim to be 10-15mins early to help set up.
Those who attended and paid sports centre last week should not have to pay for this meeting after the disruption last time. Any problems, don't pay and come see me. I'll try and contact sports centre before the weekend and see how they are going to work it.
A note to those who hire transponders from us, we will now be taking a £10 deposit on top of the £1 charge. Unfortunately no matter how many times I ask for them back, someone always goes away with one so I have no option but to start holding a deposit. To get your deposit back you will be required to hand the transponder back to me or Bruce. Sorry to those who it affects but at £70 a pop we have no option but to crack down on it.
Results will be up sometime next week, I've not got internet at home just now and can't FTP from uni. Will have to upload from my work. Sorry.
Now available in the downloads section is the 09/10 club membership form, if you could please fill one out and hand it in at race control. I will have a few copies with me at the next meeting.
It was decided at the AGM to increase the race entry fee for senior members in order to help boost club funds for future investment. The entry fees now stand at £6 for a jnr and £8 for a snr member. Just pay £6 as normal at the door and pay the extra £2 when you book on at race control.
AGM minutes have also been posted under downloads section.
4 hour endurance
I have now updated this section with information and entry form for our upcoming 4 hour team endurance on 24th January 2010.
Next meeting is 1st November, please remember your BRCA membership card. Remember this is the 3rd round of the year and is the last meeting you can race at without BRCA membership. I can't stress the importance of joining the BRCA, it provides you with third party cover in the event you cause injury to someone. Not only does it cover you whilst racing at the club, but whilst using your car in public places such as school playgrounds.
